Allelo
300 Beach Drive NE, Ste. 128, St. Petersburg, FL | allelostpete.com
Allelo is located in the center of all the action on St. Petersburg’s bustling Beach Drive. Grab an outdoor seat and watch the world go by as you savor scrumptious, mediterranean-inspired “small plates” and a perfectly-paired glass of wine. The wait staff is inviting, attentive and extremely knowledgable about the restaurant’s offerings and more than happy to help guide you in your selections–helpful given the diversity and unusual nature of Allelo’s menu. If the evening is on the warmer side, indoor seating is inviting and intimate, surrounding a beautifully appointed bar serving creatively-named, hand-crafted cocktails.
What to order:
The “small plates” approach taken by Allelo allows patrons to sample much of the restaurants unique and flavorful takes in manageable and satisfying portions. Our party of six decided on a selection of four “share plates”, a pasta dish, and two “large format” entrĂ©es served family-style. Though that sounds like a lot of food, and it was, we all left feeling like it was “just right”.
Standouts included the Cauliflower (charred, crispy, and creamy) and the Beef Tartare. From the Large Portion menu, the Bone In Striploin was perfectly cooked and seasoned. However, the pasta dish, Cacio E Pepe, was the one that knocked our socks off.
