Rodeo Goat

Don’t let the Spartan take on presentation keep you from trying this place. Unpainted cinderblock walls and simple block letter signage greet you in the parking lot and meals come served on a simple aluminum dish with no frills, keeping the focus on the food and not the décor.
There was a wait for a table, but it didn’t take long to nab a barstool facing a taxidermy goat bucking above the taps. Delivery of my meal was fast but not questionably swift for a full house.
Rodeo Goat is walkable from the Hilton Garden Inn – Dallas Market Center that The Plasencia Group recently transacted. Fort Worth is home to a second location.
What To Order
I ordered The Mike Rawlings burger—dubbed to honor Dallas’ current mayor—a sweet and savory combination of a substantial beef patty, Irish whiskey cheddar, candied bacon, blackberry compote, shredded lettuce and mustard. Ordering the fries is worth piling on the extra guilt.
When in Texas, I forego my usual sampling of craft brews and opt for a Shiner Bock to wash it all down. Rodeo Goat offers plenty of local options on tap.
