You’ve got to begin your meal with the fried Green Tomatoes with red pepper coulis or the pimento cheese on celery seed crackers with homemade bread and butter pickles. The go-to entrée here is the Shrimp and Geechee Boy grits in a thick smoked poblano gravy with tasso. The smokey beef brisket sandwich is also a favorite. It’s served with white cheddar cheese, banana peppers and a spicy horseradish cream sauce. And if you still have room to top it all off, South City Kitchen is famous for its decadent desserts. The brulée banana bread pudding and the pineapple upside-down cake are killer. The cake is served warm, with a bourbon caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream.
